Masters Of Magick Training 2011
Curriculum
I'm still filling the calendar for the coming year (meaning more yummy goodness is still coming!), but most of the spaces are filled. Here is a listing of the classes we'll be covering so far:
01/28/11 - Being In Your Power - Kelle Sparta
The foundation of working in the Magickal Realms is being in your power. You need to know how to find your center, hold your own space and stand fast against whatever may arise in order to function in the space. In this program, you'll learn the basics of this process and how to access more power over time.
- The unique challenges that empaths face in holding their power
- Why intimidation works
- Where your energy should be held and why
About Your Presenter: Kelle Sparta is a practicing shaman. She has studied shamanic, mystic, occult, Wiccan, pagan, and metaphysical practices for 30 years. She is a Reiki Master Teacher, a psychic and has led public and private ritual for over 10 years.
02/11/11 - The Art of the Waking Dream and Other Symbology - Kelle Sparta
In tribal cultures, the shamans are the ones who are responsible for interacting with the spirit world. They journey through meditation and dreaming to bring back messages from guides and ancestors. But a shaman knows a secret. If we are internally still and consciously aware, then there is no need to sleep or meditate to get those messages. The world we inhabit is ever a waking dream with its own mysteries, symbols and portents.
In this class, we'll explore the symbology of the waking dream - what to look for, where to look, and the ways in which the mundane becomes sacred as it speaks to us. Learn to interpret the difference between coincidence and omen and how to be certain that you're getting the right message.
Students are asked to look for messages from their lives in the week before the program, so be certain to pay attention to your surroundings as you go through the week leading up to this program. For a model of this log, please visit Kelle's Note on Facebook.
Class Runs: 6:30pm - 9:30pm - please be on time and plan to stay for the entire program.
About Your Presenter: Kelle Sparta has studied the spiritual world through religion, psychology, occult, Wicca, metaphysics, psychic development, and shamanism for over 30 years. A practicing shaman, she supports her students through guided discovery and deep inner wisdom. Her presence and her insights serve to create a sacred container for personal transformation.
02/25/11 - Ghosts, Demons and Trolls - Oh My! - David Franklin Farkas
'If you can see them, they can see you' ~ from 'Constantine'
Welcome to the wacky world of unseen friends... and not so friends.
As you open to more of reality you'll find the normally unseen is populated with all kinds of entities. Many you've heard about in fairy tales, religious teachings and scary camp fire stories, but never really thought were 'real.'
Surprise! They are. Now what?
Some will appear to you as your awareness expands. Some because you go looking for them. Others will impose themselves on you because you are becoming a bright light that is easy to see and oh so delicious. Or because they know you can sense them. Or because the rest of the people around can't sense them. Or because they are mischievous or mean. Or...
So, who/ what are they? What are they up to? What do you need to know? And how can you deal with them?
All good questions... come sit down around our imaginary camp fire and let's talk about it. I'll tell you about them and you can pick my brain.
We'll have fun. You will leave knowing more than you ever wanted to know about this.
About Your Presenter - David Franklin Farkas
David Franklin Farkas, MSEd, a gifted intuitive and spiritual healer, does remote energetic healing work with buildings, people and businesses . He is a Technician of the Unseen.
Mystics and quantum physicists tell us "everything is energy." David takes that a step further saying everything is energy, everything is connected, everything is conscious and everything is interactive. He works primarily with the energy of buildings. David can see and repair the energetic structure of a building (or land).
He has developed a proprietary method called Quantum Grid Restructuring which normalizes distortions in the energetic geometry of a building. Buildings, like people, are affected by and store the effects of human emotional trauma and drama and like people can be cleared and healed of these energies.
David works in several modalities.
- The first is Quantum Grid Restructuring.
- The second is more Shamanic, doing 'energy work' on the building, clearing historic 'phantom structures' and remnants of old events, releasing ghosts and banishing meaner entities, and closing vortexes, and other entry points that non-physical beings use to enter our dimension.
- The third is working with a team of seven ArchAngels who call him 'number eight.' Angels cannot intervene in our 'physical' dimension without a human asking for their help. There are also missions they cannot complete without David doing his clearing work first.
- In addition he provides a remote Kundalini Reiki healing in each situation, uses Ho'oponopono and transmits the energy of the Earth2 essences created by 'Earth Whisperer' Maggie Landman in Australia.
All of this work is done remotely.
In the 1980's, David apprenticed for three years with a psychic healer who was trained by psychic surgeons in the Philippines and with a Cherokee medicine man who worked extensively with healing power of quartz crystals. These days most of his training comes in real time as direct downloads from his guides and the ArchAngels.

03/11/11 - Casting Circle & Setting Solid Space
Susan Angelo and Rhea Ward
Ever wonder why some space seems so safe and solid and other space doesn't? It's all about how you set it, how you hold it and the strength of the person doing the work. In this program, you'll learn how to:
- Clear negative energies out of a space
- Set wards to protect a physical environment on an ongoing basis
- Cast circle (protective space) for a specific purpose and period of time
- Set your own shields to protect you when you need it
Before you can do significant workings, you need to set the space to do them in. Whether you are protecting your house, doing a healing, running a ritual, or setting up your own shields, this is the solid foundation on which everything else is built.
About Your Presenter: Susan Angelo
Susan is an intuitive healer and shaman specializing in holding and maintaining the integrity of an energetic space. She is in essence, an energetic engineer quietly serving at the foundation of the container. She works with her native spirit guides who guide her clearings and hold a welcoming space for clients to do their work in.
Susan is a Reiki Master and is certified in the Rhys Thomas Full Spectrum Healing System.
She has combined Shamanism with sound healing to create her own special form of healing called Shamanic Spirit Song Healing. Shamanic Spirit Song Healing is a combination of song, words, tones, drumming, rattling, and other nature sounds to balance the client's sense of self. This healing soothes your senses, expands your spirit, and accesses your inner knowing.
She is trained in the Munay-Ki Rites, ancient sacred rites of healing and initiation, which she can gift to others.
Susan is a gifted ritualist and, with her spirit guides, she creates personalized rituals for her clients. Through these rituals, Susan helps her clients:

04/08/11 - Stories & Myths - Gateways to Growth & Spiritual Awakenings
Robyn Mellish
Stories, myths and legends hold some of our oldest and greatest wisdom and are one of the earliest forms of ritual work and spiritual pursuit. Learning how to listen and work with them can give you maps for releasing old ways, finding new directions to go in and doorways into deeper mysteries and understanding.
In the evening I will show you the ways that stories can teach, guide and even let you try out new things. Some of the topics we’ll cover:
- Learning how to listen to the stories that are all around you and how to know when a story is trying to tell you something.
- How to work with stories to help you identify patterns in your life and shift those that are in need of change and grow those that are of benefit to you.
- How to actively seek out stories to support your work and learn to become the storyteller as well as the story listener.
- Using story deliberately as a ritual tool to guide you into new paths and connect deeper into the paths you already walk.
Stories are all around us, not just in the books we read but the news, the movies we watch and the stories we hear from those we know and even strangers on the street we overhear. All of these stories inform us whether we are conscious of it or not. Learning to take control of the stories that are constantly filling you gives you the power to make changes, grow your understanding of yourself, the people in your life and the paths that you walk. It may even take you places you never thought you could go!
About Your Presenter
Robyn Mellish has been walking her winding spiritual path for nearly 20 years now, gathering tools, perspectives and wisdom from both the traditions of her blood through welsh hedgecraft, Celtic folk and bardic practices and American conjure and those that have been gifted to her through the shamanic training of the Laiki medicine people of Peru. Through of them, she has learned that the right story told at the right time can speak to the mind, the heart and the soul and change everything.

04/22/11 - The Celestial Dance - Utilizing Solar and Lunar Energies in Our Magick
Carolyn Kepes
The dance of the Sun and Moon in the heavens has been the inspiration for magic, art, poetry and spiritual practices for thousands of years. From archaic times until the present, people and animals have been deeply impacted by the energies and cycles of the seasons and the tides along with the length of the daylight hours. As we become more aware of the changing phases of our lives, we can attune our personal life-forces and direct our attention and intentions in alignment with the mirror that we can observe in the Solar and Lunar energies. By understanding and harnessing the masculine, active energy of the Sun and the feminine, receptive energy of the Moon, we can easily add greater power to our magickal work, spiritual life and even the simple pleasures of gardening and other everyday practices and projects.
In this class we will discuss and experience the differences between these two ways of connecting with, employing the potential powers inherent within and directing these distinctly diverse energies.
We will come to understand how the threads of Solar and Lunar forces can be interwoven to create a pattern that is grand and complex, a thing of strength and beauty that holds our dreams, supports our visions and manifests our intentions.

05/06/11 - Be Careful What You Ask For - The Proper Wording of Spells and Intentions
Kelle Sparta
What makes some intentions, spells, manifestations, and/or prayers work while others don't? There are a variety of factors that go into the creation and manfiestation of a good intention, but one of the most overlooked of these factors is the issue of how they are worded. To many, this may seem minor, since their "intention" while saying the words is what they are focused on. But our subconscious minds have a big part to play in these creations and they don't hear all of the nuances that our conscious mind is trying to hold while our poorly worded statements are being made. Plus, our guides, ancestors, and helper beings are also listening and they may not be reading our jumbled minds while we are making our requests. This makes the words themselves all the more important.
The words we choose, how we say them and the order in which they are said make all the difference. For instance, a friend once told me that she wanted to live in a "magical" house. I cautioned her to be more specific lest she end up infested with brownies and faeries or with rooms that randomly changed size or with portals that opened and closed at whim or something worse. Our definitions of words and the definitions that the spirit world makes are sometimes two (or three or four or more) different things. We need to know how to create clarity in our requests to bring about our desired intent.
For this class, bring your intention and a draft of how you would make your request to the universe. We will work with each person's wording to create something that is clear enough to work with.

05/27/11 - Stretching the Barriers of Reality - What You Believe Matters
Mama Tonia Pinheiro
One of the primary functions of the mind is to create and play out possible scenarios based on what you have already experienced or might possibly experience in outer reality. Some people are able to play out complete scenarios that are so believable that they make decisions, choices and responses based solely upon what has just transpired inside their mind without any regard or consideration for external data. This is how “self-fulfilling prophecy” works.
“It’s all in your mind” or “It’s all in your head” is a phrase that has been historically used to convince someone that what they are saying or experiencing is “not real” and “not normal.” But those phrases are also truths . . . If we truly understand that all creation is happening inside of us then we have the ability to change and modify the reality we experience.
This class will explore and experiment with 3 of the Barriers of Reality - Spells, Assumptions, and Beliefs – mechanisms that the mind employs to create the reality we experience. What you believe creates the matter or substance of your reality . . . but what you truly believe is often hidden under spells and assumptions. So, when you have a clear understanding of how these mechanisms operate you can gain mastery – through practice – over what you create and the substance of reality you experience.

06/10/11 - Ritual Design - The Elements of Good Ritual - Kelle Sparta and Carolyn Kepes
We mark the passage of important moments in our lives with ritual - birth, death, marriage, graduation, birthdays, and more. But what do we do for those times when there are no set rituals (like divorce or significant personal goals achieved, etc.)? How do we mark important times in significant ways?
In this class, you'll learn the basic elements of how to create your own personal ritual. This group will learn how to create ritual and then use that knowledge to design the ritual that we will run for the next event on the 24th.

Divination deepens our understanding of our true purpose and provides spiritual information to help us identify obstacles and functional ways to bring healing and balance into our lives. Participants will learn the five elements of the Dagara cosmology, the healing and practical life lessons of divination and to begin to explore the symbolism in divination. Divination opens up the communication with spiritual entities that help us to heal issues of confusion, alienation, lack of direction and the frustrations and challenges of modern life. Short divinations will be done with participants. Divinees should have a few coins that they will turn over to the diviners during the divination process. In Dagara culture, divinations are considered a community healing process, so other participants of this workshop are invited to observe the divinations. The Dagara is a tribe indigenous to Burkina Faso, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. (3 hours)

07/22/11 - Working with the Faeries - Gisela Oeding
How beautiful is the black, lascivious purity in the hearts of children, wild animals and faeries
- Faeries
- The Wee Ones
- The Fair Folk
- The Gentry
- The Fae
To most, these words conjure images of tiny, pretty creatures with wings and lots of glitter flitting about granting wishes & causing mischief in castles or forests. Or they bring to mind visions of long-haired, long-limbed, regal (and pretty) creatures in flowing clothes with bows & arrows. And either way, they have lots of attitude.
In truth, these powerful, ancient beings are like nothing ever put on celluloid. They exist in a natural state of the soul unfettered by societal conditioning . I’ve heard it called “not civilized, but kinder”. They are contradiction … except when they are not … and they certainly don’t play by our rules.
Our time together will be sharing, learning, exploring the light and dark of the fae realm – the phookas, pixies, red caps, will o’wisps and, yes, even the sidhe, only to name a few. Before my class, you have homework – Spend some time with Brian Froud. My recommendation is his original book “Faeries”. It is by far his best. Sit with this book … and it’s inhabitants … to see what you can glean from behind the veil on your own. Come ready to engage in a lively discussion of the denizens of the realm.
Bring an open, inquisitive mind tuned to the places of children and wild animals, lots of questions, and an offering for the Fae. If you want something from them, you have to pay for it … and that doesn’t always ensure that you will get what you asked for.
Or maybe you will.
About Your Presenter:
A natural Witch, Gisela has been walking the twilight spaces between the veils her whole life. As a child, she was encouraged to do so by loving parents who not only told her to talk to the trees, but to listen as well because they talk back and to leave out shiney things to thank the friendly folk who protected her while she slept.
As an adult, her path lead her to train in Francesca DeGrandis’ 3rd Road Tradition, where she became an initiate. Later, she trained in the Black Heart branch of Victor Anderson’s Feri Tradition. Currently, she is also studying Southern Conjure with Orion Foxwood. She is also a ritual facilitator with 15 years of experience, having been the original coordinator of Western MA Pagan Pride Day, among other things, and a Master of the Usui System of Reiki.

09/23/11 - The Power of Voice - Healing, Words of Power, Holding Space with Voice

Our voices contain power. They move energy through the air with vibration, tone, and form. How we use our voices makes all the difference in how we are perceived and received. In this class, we'll explore the use of voice not only in magickal working, but in day-to-day life. We'll look at the words we choose and the ways in which we express those words. We'll also delve into chanting, song, and toning as ways of creating power in our lives. You'll never open your mouth the same way again.
Kelle Sparta is a thought alchemist and shaman who works with her voice. She is a professional speaker, singer and does toning for healing.

Ukumbwa Sauti & Rebecca deGraw
Dagara Numerology: Bringing Balance to Body, Spirit and World
Numbers, as they relate to the five elements of the Dagara cosmology, will be used to help participants learn more about their strengths and challenges, how to identify them and how to work with these energies in their life. Numerology assists us in finding balance in an imbalanced world around us, enabling us to see deeper into our personal and social situations. Participants will also learn their birth element and define ways of strengthening their place in their personal relationships, in society and, importantly, with respect to Spirit. Some participants will be asked to provide information so that a numerological reading can be done for them during the workshop. (3 hours)
